Mania: an obsessional enthusiasm or partiality.
There is no logical reason to run, walk or slog for 13 miles. Why did I sign up to do 13 in 78 days this spring? So that I can receive 3 more planets in a mythical universe called halffanatics.com
Welcome to my Psychosis.
And now that I accomplished that goal, I signed up to do 28 in six months to get to Mercury, or eight moons. And since I accomplished that, I'm working on 52 in a year to reach the sun!. When will the madness end!!??

I'm losing count of the weekends. 11th weekend of this series and 15th half we'll call it. Madison Wisconsin. Beautiful run. Perfect weather, around 58 at the start and overcast the whole race. Been reading about heaven and hell and earth in Rob Bells "Love Wins" this week. Definitely experience it here. At one point we ran along a trail by Lake Monona. It was foggy and misty and looking at over what appeared to be the lake, it was impossible to see it. There was the green grass and a few trees that disappeared into a gray background, with the large lake and the sky indistinguishable. I could not for the life of me see the difference between earth and sky, heaven and earth. Beautiful.

Officially, my work is done here. I did 13 halfs in 12 weekends and got to Venus on halffanatics.com. So I could quit and go back to sleeping in on Saturdays and eating what I want. Okay, I already eat what I want. But I can't stop the halfs. Could I get to Mercury by doing 28 in 6 months?
Just finished the Geist half marathon. Hilly and it got pretty warm by the end. Ice bath time. And I'm developing a real taste for Strawberry milk as victory lap rehydration.

Weekend #9: Pittsburgh half marathon. Every week, the city, race and friendships made keep getting better and better, this week no exception. Pittsburgh is a great city! Lots of support from spectators, great volunteers, great medal. I though this would be half marathon #12 on my way to 13 in 12 weekends, but because I doubled up 3 times it was number 13 already! Meet some good friends from Orlando who just happened to be in town for the marathon, we didn't know they were going to be there. Life is good, run half marathons!
Addendum to week #8: I almost forgot to post I did another double last weekend, Indy on the 7th and Kalamazoo Michigan on the 8th. Kalamazoo was great! 45 degrees at the start and 70's by afternoon so kinda hot but I was done before then. Lots of support on the course and got to meet several more folks from Halffanatics.

# 8 and #9. Derby half in Louisville on Saturday. They took the hills out of the half. Met up with several folks from Half Fanatics, had a great time! #9, Flying Pig in Cincinnati on Sunday. Dinner with a bunch of Fanatics. Rain at the start but it backed off. Nice time. Had to walk 50 minutes back to the hotel, I went over the wrong bridge in Cincy.
