Mania: an obsessional enthusiasm or partiality.

There is no logical reason to run, walk or slog for 13 miles. Why did I sign up to do 13 in 78 days this spring? So that I can receive 3 more planets in a mythical universe called halffanatics.com

Welcome to my Psychosis.

And now that I accomplished that goal, I signed up to do 28 in six months to get to Mercury, or eight moons. And since I accomplished that, I'm working on 52 in a year to reach the sun!. When will the madness end!!??

7th Half in 6 weeks, half way there. Pine Line trail half in Medford Wi. 39 and light rain at the start but a beautiful course out on a trail. Hooded sweatshirts instead of tee shirts! But no medal. 8th state I've done. Really felt tired about mile 9 or 10. Gotta suck it up before next weekends big double: Derby in Louisville and Flying Pig in Cincinnati.

Week 5, half marathon #6. Glass City half in Toledo Ohio. Very well organized marathon and half. Lots of water stations, although with it 39 degrees and extremely windy didn't need that many. Great volunteers, flat course. And the best thing: Toledo has a Tim Hortons, YES!!!

#5. GO! St Louis half marathon. Really, really hot. Got up to 90 this day! They bagged the full marathon 2 hours into it, too many people were dropping. Kinda hilly too, but I got my best time in 5 years. 5 in 4 weeks, we are rolling. Toledo next up.

First back to back! #4 for my halfmania, #55 overall, second this weekend. Crossroads half in Lowell Indiana. Really pretty course, if you like farms and farmland. Very windy though, that made it quite challenging. The part through Cedar Lake was gorgeous. Stopped at Fair Oaks Farm on the way home for grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate milk, an excellent recovery idea!

#3. IU Mini in Bloomington. Not as good a race this year with the new course and group directing it. TONS of hills for the third week in a row. 3 weekends, 3 halfs, we're getting there.
